Basalt Middle School is hiring a part-time PEAK teacher for the 2017-18 school year. 

The PEAK coordinator is a staff member who is focused on meeting the academic and affective needs of gifted students through supporting their general education teachers and coordinating opportunities inside and/or outside of school. This role includes identification, assessment, development and coordination of Advanced Learning Plans (ALPs). It also includes providing or coordinating programming and progress-monitoring for students as well as providing or coordinating resources and professional development for teachers.

Basalt Middle School has been repeatedly recognized with the Colorado Governor's Distinguished Improvement Award for outstanding student growth.  We have also been recognized nationally as a School to Watch for our Growth Mindset school culture.  We are seeking candidates who hold students to high academic standards and understand the importance of character education in middle schools. Candidates must be highly qualified and possess or be eligible to obtain a CDE Certified Teaching License. Benefits and paid leave included!
