RFSD seeks a detail-oriented individual with strong accounting and computer skills to serve as Payroll Specialist in our District Office, located in downtown Glenwood Springs. Pay begins at $19.00/hour but may be higher for experienced candidates. This position performs many different payroll accounting and internal customer service functions for a payroll of around 1,000 employees, including data entry and analysis, monthly payroll processing, and payroll troubleshooting.
Required Qualifications:
- Requires a minimum of 3 years experience with all aspects of a payroll department, including but not limited to: time entry, payroll processing, and report generation and analysis.
- Ability to provide timely and exceptional customer service to employees is a must.
- Detail-oriented.

- Ability to maintain accuracy when working with complex datasets and account codes.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Advanced knowledge of payroll practices and systems
- Advanced knowledge of FLSA and Colorado regulations as it relates time reporting
- Experience with large and multi-site payrolls
- Ability to independently prioritize, organize and perform work tasks
- Experience with payroll reporting requirements, such as: federal and state taxes, new hire reporting, garnishments, and quarterly and year-end reporting including W2 production.
- Knowledge of benefit structures, retirement plans, leave plans, etc.
Pay begins at $18.00/hour and is commensurate with experience. This is a year-round position with a high likelihood of overtime during busy, peak payroll-activity times. Full benefits included! |
