The Roaring Fork School District is seeking a dynamic, knowledgeable, and innovative Elementary Art Teacher for Sopris Elementary School.
Teachers at Sopris Elementary will work closely and collaboratively with their team to develop and implement the RFSD instructional model, and will be supported through ongoing coaching cycles to help the continuous improvement of their craft. Sopris seeks a positive and proactive individual who strives to build strong relationships with parents, students, and colleagues.
Required Qualifications:
*Colorado Teaching License (K-6) with Art endorsement (or working on endorsement)
Desired Qualifications:
*Elementary art teaching experience
*Experience teaching a diverse population of students including English Language Learners
*Knowledge of art history and different art genres in order to teach a range of art styles
*Ability to communicate concrete and abstract concepts to students
*Ability to spot and cultivate creativity

*Openness to coaching, feedback, and reflection in order to continuously improve practices.
*Values driven instructional leadership and professionalism
*Personal ownership and passion for improving outcomes for all learners
*Provide individual and small-group instruction to adapt the curriculum to the needs of students with varying intellectual and artistic abilities, and to accommodate a variety of instructional activities
*Evaluate each student’s performance and growth in knowledge and aesthetic understandings, and prepare progress reports
*Plan and present art displays and exhibitions designed to exhibit students’ work for the school and the community
