Glenwood Springs Elementary School - Fifth Grade Teacher

The Roaring Fork School District is seeking applications for a dynamic, knowledgeable, innovative Fifth Grade Teacher to ensure that every student develops the enduring knowledge, skills and character to thrive in a changing world.

Glenwood Springs Elementary (GSES) serves a diverse and multilingual student population of 550 PreK- 5th grade students.  GSES is on an exciting journey as it became an EL Education School (formerly Expeditionary Learning) five years ago. Classroom teachers at GSES work closely and collaboratively with their team to develop and implement the EL Education model in their classrooms and throughout the school.  GSES seeks a positive and proactive individual who can get their hands dirty, work with teams and embrace our “We are Crew, not Passengers” motto.

Required Qualifications:

• Colorado Teaching License (K-6)

Desired Qualifications:

• Elementary teaching experience
• Experience with Experiential Education, project-based learning, or other similar model.
• Experience teaching a diverse population of students including English Language Learners.
• Experience in adventure, outdoor, and/or environmental education settings.
• Strong background in literacy and mathematics instruction.
• Bilingual
