Responsive Services School-Based Interventionist
Roaring Fork Schools seeks a full-time (40 hours/week) Responsive Services Interventionist for the 2018-19 school year. This position will work at Glenwood Springs Middle School and Glenwood Springs High School to develop and improve responses and other services for at-risk students (details below). This is a grant-funded position (special assignment) with a known term of two years (2018-19 and 2019-20). Continuation beyond the next two school years is possible, but not guaranteed. Full district benefits, including PERA pension, are included. An active CDE license of some kind (teaching, counseling, social work, administrative, etc.) is required for this position (Teacher on Special Assignment).
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED
This position will work on the school’s MTSS or Student Support team and be directly supervised by the administration team at their building site. They will receive direct support from the district Responsive Services Coordinator.
PRIMARY DUTIES – The following are examples of primary duties assigned to the position. Other related primary duties and responsibilities may be assigned.
Receive student data for Habitually Truant kids and coordinate the development of responsive services plans to include proactive home visits and collaborative and proactive solution meetings for your school team.
Maintain a caseload of students for whom you are maintaining family contact, updating behavioral plans, following up with teachers and other staff, and meeting with on a regular basis.
Hold proactive home visits and collaborative and proactive solution meetings with students on your caseload (training will be available in both of these models).
Schedule meetings with parents and families and coordinate outreach for parent education events provided in cooperation with the family liaisons and family resource team.
Cooperate with the building counseling team to connect students to appropriate supports.
Attend regularly scheduled student support team meetings in your building.
Maintain contact and communication about your building’s needs and progress with the Responsive Services Coordinator.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Effective MTSS systems
Restorative, Trauma-Informed, and Culturally Responsive Practices
Infinite Campus Student Management platform (useful)
Skills:
Excellent bilingual communication skills (preferred)
Able to work positively on teams
Experience in Restorative Practices or willingness to develop knowledge
Able to build and maintain respectful, professional partnerships
Trained in or willing to be trained in RF Schools’ proactive home visit model
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s degree required
Holds or able to obtain a CDE license
Five years of effective work within the education sector preferred
Bilingual (English/Spanish) strongly preferred
WORKING CONDITIONS
Office environment; exposure to computer screens; travel from site to site. Must provide own vehicle.
Physical Conditions:
Primary functions may require maintaining physical condition necessary for sitting for prolonged periods of times; use of computer keyboard; light lifting and carrying.
