The Roaring Fork School District is seeking a Family Resource Center Developmental Director
DEFINITION: Under supervision of the Director of Family Services the Development Director works to research, secure and maintain funding for Roaring Fork Schools. This person will receive primary direct supervision from the Director of Family Services. This position is exempt and full-time benefits eligble.
PRIMARY DUTIES
- Create and maintain a fundraising plan.
- Write and submit grants to foundations, government.
- Write and submit annual and bi-annual reports to current funders.
- Research and approach potential funders: foundations, government, and business.
- Cultivate individual donors -- letters, and personal calls and follow up activities including thank you letters.
- Ensure that data and evaluation management systems promote compliance with funder requirements.
- Secure corporate/business sponsorships for events and programs and maintain relationships.
- Advise senior leadership in community networking opportunities to raise awareness and interest, such as Rotary, Association of Fundraising Professionals, etc., to promote projects and programs of the Roaring Fork Schools.
- Design and produce annual individual donor campaign.
- Produce quarterly fundraising reports, annual Family Services evaluation and annual post-audit fundraising report.
- Work with Public Information Officer to prepare and disseminate press releases specific to development issues.
- Coordination and oversight of district-wide grant proposals and funder relationships
- Single point of entry/exit for grants
- Coordination of collaborative grant proposals
- Grant reporting oversight
- Grant/fundraising consultation and support
- Roaring Fork Public Education Foundation support and oversight.
- Manage School Health Services (Medicaid) Program.
- Write and supervise production of Family Services yearly annual report.
QUALIFICATIONS
Knowledge of:
Roaring Fork School District student population
Working within an educational community with parents and staff
State and federal legislation regarding children, families, health and human services
Community programs and resources for families and students
Non-profit organizations
Grant writing
Event management
Fundraising techniques
English usage, spelling, grammar and punctuation.
Modern office procedures and methods.
Advanced knowledge of Mac, Microsoft Office programs, especially Word and Excel.
Knowledge of data base concepts
Principles and procedures of record keeping.
Principles of business and letter writing and basic report preparation.
Ability to:
Research and write grant requests and reports
Make public presentations
Work with Boards and commissions
Operate and use modern office equipment including a computer and various software packages.
Communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and in writing.
Establish and maintain effective working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
EXPERIENCE & TRAINING GUIDELINES
Experience:
Minimum of three years experience with a non-profit organization. Experience in grant and report writing.
Training & Education
Equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university with major course work in Health, Human Services and/or Education. A Masters degree in a related field is preferred. Family Development and Support training. Grant writing training.
License:
Ability to obtain and maintain a valid Colorado Drivers License. |
